Several pets a month come to our shelter with dire medical needs.

Our Cinderella Fund gives injured and sick dogs and cats a second chance for life.

We are currently experiencing an increase in pets with a need for expensive surgeries and treatments. Thanks to Front Line Realtors for matching $3,432.75 in donations to our Cinderella Fund and helping take our total to over $11,500!! We are closing in on our $15,000 goal.

Donations to our Cinderella Fund pay for emergency medical treatment for desperate dogs and cats. Sometimes pets arrive at our shelter with life-threatening injuries or illnesses. Last year we spent $15,915.04 to treat the neediest pets in our care. We believe these pets deserve a second chance at life.

Mia Needs Cinderella

Mia is a beautiful, calm, patient eight-week-old puppy who was brought to our shelter with extensive injuries to both of her back legs. Our staff quickly made contact with the previous owner who surrendered her to our care.

Mia had her surgery on Friday, January 7, 2022. The surgery was complex. The vet inserted several pins into Mia to try and save both of the pup's back legs. Other hardware is required to successfully treat Mia's injuries and help her heal. Recovery will take several weeks or even months.

Funds are needed to help pay for the medical treatment of Mia and other pets who come to our shelter with life-altering injuries. Mia's surgery cost $464.95.

Holly and Her Seven Puppies Were Saved By Cinderella

Holly arrived at our shelter pregnant. One of our volunteer foster families took the plump girl into their home. Two weeks later Holly went into labor but was struggling to deliver the babies. Our alert foster family contacted one of our vet partners and an emergency C-section was performed.

It turned out Holly was pregnant with eight puppies. Holly is small and her puppies were big, no wonder she had trouble delivering them. The surgery was difficult. Each puppy needed special care to initiate their breathing. Without the emergency procedure, Holly and her babies would have all perished. Sadly, one of the puppies died in the first few days after birth.

At four weeks old, all seven of the remaining puppies are thriving. They are gaining weight, playing, and enjoying the company of their one-eyed cat friend Okie. Holly is struggling to keep food down because of her sensitive tummy but she is a wonderful mom.

Our Cinderella Fund makes sure we have the money needed to react quickly when emergency surgeries are needed. Holly and her seven puppies have a second chance at life because you donate to help our pets. Holly's emergency surgery cost $675. The puppies will be available for adoption in mid-February.

Lilith Had Her Cinderella Moment, Twice!

Lilith is a six-month-old kitten who was brought in with a severe leg injury. She required surgery on her back leg to save her life. After surviving the first surgery she was on her way to recovery when our staff realized her wound was infected and would require a second surgery. She has also undergone laser therapy to help heal her wound.

This girl has shown an amazing spirit while enduring all of the discomforts of her medical care. Your donations will ensure that unfortunate babies like Lilith can get another chance at a healthy life. Lilith's surgeries and treatment have cost $147.42 so far.

Zeke Fought Parvovirus and Won, Thanks to Cinderella

Zeke is adorable, goofy, funny, and loving. This three-year-old boy is a true survivor. He arrived at our shelter and quickly showed signs of a deadly virus called Parvovirus. Parvo is extremely contagious and deadly for many canines. In a shelter situation, tough decisions have to be made about trying to treat a dog with Parvo vs risking the spread of the disease to other pets.

Because of your support we decided to tackle the challenge of treating Zeke. In the past, his diagnosis may have resulted in euthanasia in order to prevent the spread of the illness to other dogs in our care. In fact, Zeke is the first dog to undergo Parvo treatment in our new approach to save dogs in the early stages of the disease. We are proud to report that Zeke thrived with treatment and is still a heartwarming goofball.

But, treatment for Parvovirus and arranging for the sick pets to be completely isolated is expensive. Zeke's care has cost $1,355 so far. We need contributions to our Cinderella Fund to continue to care for dogs like Zeke.
